Aetiology

• Post-surgical or endogenous
• Causative organisms: often conjunctival commensal bacteria, most common causative organism is Staph. epidermidis

Clinical features

• Very painful
• Decreasing vision
• Very red eye

Investigations

• Aqueous/vitreous for culture

Management

• Intravitreal amikacin/ceftazidime/vancomycin and topical antibiotics
